Reuben A. Baca, 73, of Flagstaff passed away October 23, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Reuben was born on October 30, 1943 to Aurelio & Lugarda Baca in Flagstaff, Arizona.

He graduated in 1962 from Flagstaff High School. Shortly thereafter, Reuben join the National Guard and then proceeded to enlist in the United States Navy in 1967, serving several tours in Vietnam and Korea. In 1967 he married soul mate Shirley A. Salazar, had 5 daughters and remained happily married for 50 years. Over the years Reuben worked for Babbitt Ford, Budweiser and Flagstaff Unified School District. Throughout his life, Reuben remained a dedicated husband, father, Tata, uncle and friend. He enjoyed old cars, collectables, antiques and being with family. Reuben will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity and the love he had for his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

Reuben is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Monica, Paula (Gino) Matus, Shelly (Ramon) Martinez, & Yvette; Grandchildren, Marcus, Gabe, Sabrina, Nicholas, Anthony, Oscar & Niko and his sister, Irene Garcia, along with many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gabriel & Margarita Calistro, Parents Aurelio and Lugarda Baca; Daughter Anna Lisa; brothers, Tony Baca & Daniel Calistro and sister Lydia Calistro.

Services will be held on November 4, 2017 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, Rosary at 10:00 am, Mass will be held at 11:00 am with procession to Calvary Cemetery and reception to follow. Arrangements are by Lozano’s Flagstaff Mortuary, www.FlagstaffMortuary.com.
