Born in Nashville, Tenn., Charles had been an automobile dealer in Dallas for 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a veteran of both World Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eileen Mauney Charles; daughters, Mrs. Doris Allard, Miss Bettye Gene Charles and Miss Mary Lou Charles, all of Dallas; and a sister, Mrs. Lester High of Hopkinsville, Ky.
