Elizabeth "Eliza" Jane Rothrock was the youngest of nine known children of Hugh Beckerdite (1809-1864) and Christina Rothrock (1813-1853), who married c1831 at presumably Stokes or Davidson County, North Carolina, though a marriage record for them can't be located.
Eliza married Michael Cicero Bodenhamer (1854-1936) on 05 Dec 1878 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Eliza and Michael were the parents of four known children, namely:
- Belinda Christena Agnes Bodenhamer Reid (1881-1933)
- Haseltine "Hassie" Jane Bodenhamer (1884-1970)
- Orville Hilary Bodenhamer (1887-1974)
- Joseph Bodenhamer (???-???)
In 1880 the parents were living alone at Midway Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. In 1900 the family (parents and all three living children) were living at Midway Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. Eliza said she was the mother of three, all living. In 1910 the parents, Hazeltine and Hilary were living at Midway Township, Davidson County, North Carolina. Eliza said she was the mother of three, all living. Was Joseph really a child of this family? or did he die young and thus not mentioned in the 1900 or 1910 census?
