Ernest Cheatham, 84, of Trenton, NJ departed this life on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Born and educated in Oxford, NC, Mr. Cheatham was a resident of Trenton for most his life. He was formerly employed by Thermoid Rubber Company and retired from Princeton University with over 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge #55 Trenton, NJ. He was an honorably discharged US Army veteran. He is predeceased by his wife, Elnora Cheatham; his parents, John Henry and Pearl Harris Cheatham; a daughter, Annie Glenn; sisters, Mary Brown, Kate Cheatham-McNeil, Alice Mangum and Ethel Garrett; a grandson, Michael Glenn; a niece, Tonette Brown; sons-in-law, Louis Glenn and Leslie Pearson, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Tommie Lee Clark and a special companion, Waverly Lewis. He is survived by four daughters, Carrie Pearson of Queens, NY, Jean Palmer of Trenton, Linda Brodie and Diane Green (Ronald) of Oxford, NC; 21 grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Rodney, Nathaniel, Shanita, Pamela, Derrick, April, Gregory, Hassan, Angela, Alisha, Leslie, Jr., Joann, Jae, Jerome, Jocelyn, William, Derrick, Dominique, and Danté; 12 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 9:00 am at Light House Outreach Ministries 715 Bellevue Ave Trenton, NJ. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, October 13, 2017, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Campbell Funeral Chapel 1225 Calhoun St. Trenton, NJ, and Saturday from 8 am to 9 am at the church.
