Eugene E. Adams December 5, 1912 - March 23, 2007 Eugene (Gene) Adams passed away peacefully at the age of 94, with his loving wife, Lorene (Lehman), at his side. They were married for 73 years. He is survived by his sons, Chuck (Joan), Jim (Normalee) and daughter, Christine (Larry) Hill and grandchildren, David (Vicki), Mark (Vicki), Julie (Mike) Hicks, Carrie Tyler, Adam (Laura) Cary, Rebecca (Bryan) Axtman, Aaron Cary, Jacob Cary, Randy Adams, Julie Antuzzi-Rueffert and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Russell (Susie) Adams and a former daughter-in-law, Jane Adams. Gene was born in Checotah, Oklahoma and grew up on a farm. He married Lorene in 1934 and moved to Tucson in 1936 seeking work. After working a few years at Reid's Ranch, he found employment at DM Air Force Base where he worked for 42 years in civil service. After retirement, he continued to work full-time and then part-time until he was 80 years old. Gene set a great example for his children by his work ethic, honesty and family loyalty. He will be remembered for his friendly manner, ready smile and willingness to assist anyone needing help. The family would like to thank all of the staff and caregivers at The Inn and Gardens at The Fountains who have provided loving care over the past five years. A family graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 31, and a memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon at The Inn at the Fountains. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Salvation Army, 1001 N.
