On September 5, 1985, Metro Phillipchuk of Edmonton, aged 72 years, passed away.

He leaves his loving wife, Trudy; one son Ron and his wife Elizabeth, Hailfax; two daughters, Janet Parasynchuk and her husband Brian and Susan Kowton and her husband Cal, Edmonton; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew and Daniel. He was predeceased by an infant son, Dennis in 1952 and a sister, Nancy Winter in 1986. Metro also leaves four brothers and four sisters, Bill, George, Nick, Andy, Helen Stratichuk and Mary Myshyniuk, all of Edmonton, Esther Bennet, Vancouver and Josephine Engel, Castor.

Prayers will be held Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the Prairie Lily Chapel of Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street. Reverend Clem Gauthier will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Church, 12810-111 Avenue followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Palliative care Unit 6Y, Edmonton General Hospital, 1111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton T5K 9Z9. The Floral Chapels, Connelly-McKinley Ltd. Phone 422-2222.
