Helen L. (Massey) Althouse, 99, of Birdsboro, Pa., passed away on October 24, 2017, at Amity Place in Douglassville, Pa. She was born in Birdsboro, Pa., to the late Harry F. Massey and the late Arvilla C. (Stuart) Massey. She was married to the late Allen B. Althouse.
Helen was a graduate of Birdsboro High School, class of 1936, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bird Chapter #460, serving as a past matron from 1988-1989.
Surviving Helen are her 2 sons, Robert A. Althouse, husband of Mary Ann, of Douglassville, Pa., and John H. Althouse, husband of Suzanne, of Exeter Twp., Pa. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Scott, Amy and John; 5 great-grandchildren: Chyna, Ashton, Kristin, Damian and Veronica; and great-great-grandchild, Ariel.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Arvilla Althouse, and brother, Albert F. Massey.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA at 10:00 a.m. A viewing will be held at the funeral home, Friday evening Oct. 27, 2017, from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with an O.E.S. Service at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Birdsboro Cemetery. Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., Birdsboro, Pa., is in charge of the arrangements.
