James Douglas Adams age 61, of Laurel Hill passed away October 23, 2017.
He was born March 19, 1956 in Defuniak Springs to Mathis Adams and Mytrie Stringfellow Adams.
Doug worked as an electrician and a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry until ill health forced his retirement.
He loved the outdoors and was often found working and caring for his garden, fishing and doing projects around his home.
Nothing was more important to Doug as his family.
He was a loving husband, dad and granddad.
He was preceded in death by son, Jason Adams; grandson, Dustin Negron; father, Mathis Adams; mother, Mytrie Stringfellow Adams; brother, Jack Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Corbin Adams of Laurel Hill, son, James Adams II and wife Beth of Florala, daughters, Tracy Bryant and husband Robert of Mossy Head, Shellie Adams of Montgomery and Samantha Nye and husband Tommy of Youngstown, sister, Barbara Cofield and husband James of Defuniak Springs, brother, Burl Adams of New Harmony.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. He relished being their "Pa Pa".
Funeral services for Doug Adams will be 11AM Saturday October 28, 2017 from Evans Funeral Home with Todd Camp officiating.
Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in the Paxton Cemetery.
