Kenly-James Frederick “Freddy” Godwin, 77, died Monday, October 23, 2017 at Johnston UNC Healthcare.

Freddy was born November 13, 1939 in Wilson County, to Polly Godwin Barnes and the late James Henry Godwin. He was married to the late Martha Jean Godwin who preceded him in death on December 24, 2010.

Freddy was an avid farmer and produce broker. He loved his family and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. from Buckhorn Cemetery.

In addition to his mother, Freddy is survived by his daughters, Fredda Johnson of Bailey and Debbie Mitchum and husband, Sonny of Columbia, SC; sisters, Peggy Glover and Eunice Page; grandsons, Will Godwin and Steven Godwin; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by sons, Bill Godwin and James “Stumpy” Godwin.
