Cody Dewayne Hardaway, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born July 21, 1985 in Andrews, Texas, to Lloyd and Shannon Hardaway. Cody loved working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, welding, and anything mechanical, which led him to pursue certification as a diesel mechanic. He worked for years as a locomotive mechanic, and was always willing to lend a helping hand; anything to keep busy. He loved the outdoors, was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and especially enjoyed riding and working on four-wheelers with his son, Haden.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ellis Lynn “Pete” Hardaway, his paternal step-grandfather, Cecil Carr; and one very special dog, Bud.

He is survived by his parents; his girlfriend, Jennifer Burge, and their son, Haden Hardaway, of Horatio; two brothers, one sister-in-law, two nieces, and nephew: Timothy and Casey Hardaway, and their children, Heidi and Lance, of Lockesburg, and Matthew Hardaway and his daughter, Erin, of Horatio; his maternal grandparents, Hazel and Leo Martin of Pickens, Oklahoma, and his paternal grandmother, Veebal Carr of Battiest, Oklahoma.
