Carole Lea Brannon, 78, of Purcell, OK passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Purcell. Carole was born May 22, 1939 in Heavener, OK to Carroll & Faye (Walkup) Muse. Carole began work at an early age to help support the family. This early experience made her a strong advocate for working people. She was a member of the OPEIU Local 381 where she became President and served for 8 years. She served as Secretary & Treasurer for the town of Fanshawe for 6 years. She was a tireless volunteer for issues and political candidates that supported her cause. Carole met the love of her life her Senior year at Heavener High School. Doyle and his buddies attended a football game to look at the cheerleaders. Rumor has it that Carole would do a cartwheel and Doyle would toss a nickel. They were married for 53 years at the time of Doyle's death on March 17, 2011. Every morning they were together Doyle would kiss Carole on the cheek and say "good morning"! She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Pat Ferguson & Waymeth Stewart; brother, Jay Muse; and great grandson, Kale Foster. Services will be 1 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Fanshawe Cemetery Pavilion, Fanshawe, OK with Sally McGowen officiating. Interment will follow.
