Burdette Charles Fred "Chuck" Arent, 85, died on October 21, 2017. He was born on May 14, 1932, to Henry and Amanda (Schacht) Arent in Minden. He married his loving wife, Madeline, on December 9, 1965. Chuck was a member of Southview Christian Church. Chuck retired from Gooch Milling/ADM in 1995.
He is survived by sons, Robert (Deb) Varga Jr. of Lincoln, David Varga of Sanger, Texas, Charles (Deb) Arent of Lincoln, Chris (Lori) Arent of Sidney; daughters, Sue Evans, April Varga, Angela Ashcraft and Lisa (Michael) Iverson, all of Lincoln; sister, Nancy (Bob) Hoyer, and sister-in-law, Ardis (William) Bundy of Waverly. Chuck greatly loved his 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Madeline, his wife of 51 years; parents, Henry and Amanda Arent; sister, Darlene Weyers; and son-in-law, Steve Evans.
Chuck's memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. . The service will be conducted by Pastor Kerry O'Bryant of Southview Christian Church. A private family burial will be held.
