Cleveland, Tenn., Jan. 10 The Rev. Lee Roy Johns, 50, Pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, of Cleveland, for the past four years, died here tonight at 7:30 o’clock. He was stricken in his pulpit while preaching several weeks ago and lingered until his death tonight.
The Rev. Mr. Johns was widely known, and popular in church circles in this section. Funeral services will be held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Cleveland Monday at 10 a.m., the Rev. C. R. Matlock of Knoxville, officiating. The body will be taken to McKenzie, TN, where burial will be held on Tuesday.
The Rev. Mr. Johns is survived by his widow; two sons, James Robert Johns, Memphis, TN; William Paul Johns, Cleveland; father, Robert D. Johns, Cleveland; three sisters, Mrs. E. C. Belew, Trezevant, TN; Mrs. G. M. Bryant, Milan, TN; Mrs. Joseph Moseley, Greenfield, TN.
