Edmund "Ed" Royce Daniels, 87, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at The Cedars in Leo. Born in Munising, MI, Ed worked as a supervisor with Nipsco for 36+ years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion Post 499 Masonic Lodge, Huntertown, life member of Scottish Rite Free Masonry, USS Pittsburgh Association, and US Navy Cruiser Association. Ed was a Korean War Navy Veteran on the USS Pittsburgh CA-72. He was a master gardener and enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He was a life long Komet Hockey fan and enjoyed coaching hockey peewee leagues. He was highly involved in constructing the Wallen Baseball Diamond, having one ball diamond dedicated to him. Surviving are his wife P. June Daniels; son, Gary Daniels of Fort Wayne; daughter, Annette Daniels of Fort Wayne; brother, Larry (Shirley) Daniels of Munising, MI; grandchildren, Adam (Kim) Daniels, Derek (Lindsey) Daniels, Katie Daniels, and Tori Brockman; and great-grandchildren, Aaden Daniels, Alex Daniels, Hayden Norton, and Lily Daniels. Ed was preceded in death by father, Claude Daniels; mother, Aini Daniels; brother, Earl Daniels; and sister, Dorothy Beerman. Service is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at - D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Calling from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm in the funeral home prior to the service. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
