Shirley Mae Wells Apple, 85, of East Greenbush, (formerly of Troy, and Cape Canaveral, Fla.) was the daughter of the late Edward Wells and Edith Mathews. Wife of 62 years to the late Lawrence Apple. She was a member of Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy, and Christ Lutheran Church of Cape Canaveral. The family would like to thank community hospice and the staff at Samaritan Hospital for their kindness and care they provided. Shirley is survived by six children, Terry Ann (Allen) Packard, Thomas (Lynne) Apple, Linda (Robert) Doherty, Garry Apple, David (Rena) Apple and Walter (Nedra) Apple; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three grandchildren, and one brother.
