She was married on December 3, 1949 to Jesse James Vaughan (1906–1994), the son of Enoch Buck Vaughan (1857–1950) and Emma Gertrude (Jordan) Vaughan (1864–1953).
A resident of Hohenwald, Lewis County, Dorothy was 93 years old when she died on October 14, 2017 at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Charles Thomas Hinson and by her sister Doris Marguerite (Hinson) Brackeen. Survivors included her sister Mary Alice (Hinson) Underhill and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held at the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home, and burial was in Grinders Creek Church of Christ Cemetery in Lewis County.
