Mary Stokley Smith, 81, of Whiteville, formerly of Wilmington passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her home in Columbus County following a valiant battle with cancer.
Born August 20, 1936 in Columbus County, NC, she is a daughter of John W. Stokley and Lessie L. Simmons Stokley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack David Larkins; her second husband, C.L. Smith; and her son, John D. Larkins.
She is survived by her son, Aaron L. Larkins and his wife, Gina; her four grandchildren, David Larkins, Aaron Larkins, Jr., Leigha Danielle Larkins and John Christian Larkins; and her brothers, Earl Junior Stokley and his wife, Mary, Woody Stokley and his wife, Aggie, J.D. Reeves and Marvin Reeves.
Mary is remembered as a selfless, loving and kind woman who was always there to listen.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Andrews Market Street. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 20, 2017 at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
