Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold Addison, Sr. and Ethel May Bemis, and stepdaughter of the late Dorothy Irene Bemis. Marlene was a phlebotomist, and worked in hospitals in Boston, MA, Shawnee Mission, KS, Paradise, CA, and Washington, DC. She was an avid reader and student of the Bible, and a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Treml is survived by two children, John C. Treml of Thurmont, and Carolee M. Sommers of Ocean City, MD; two brothers, Harold A. Bemis, Jr. of Wappinger Falls, NY, and Wayne C. Bemis of Saratoga Springs, NY; two grandsons, Elijah D. Marshall and Jeremiah A. Marshall, both of Appling, GA; two great-granddaughters, Cassandra & Charlotte Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Dottie Bemis.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 21st at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon. Dr. David M. Summers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Veterans Gardens of Honor II at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene's memory may be made to the Adventist Disaster Relief Agency, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904 (adra.org) .
