Kathleen Bales Kelley, 92, of Baptist Health Care, Lenoir City died Friday morning, Aug. 15, 2003. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a member of Daughter's of America Grace Darling Council #11 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don "Red" Kelley, a longtime city councilman of Lenoir City; sister, Mildred Bowden; and brothers, Fred Bales, Mark Bales, John Bales, Julian Bales and Parnham Bales.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and many friends from Central United Methodist Church.
The family received friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the Hawkins Chapel with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. with Dr. C. Mark Gooden officiating. Family and friends gathered at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lenoir City Cemetery for graveside services.
Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Blackburn, Charles Eblen, Mike Henline, Tommy McCarroll, Bill Stafford and Joe Trout.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 201 B Street, Lenoir City, Tenn. 37771. Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City is serving the family of Kathleen Kelley.
