LeRome Barefoot Darden, 85, of Dunn died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017.

Born May 20, 1932, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Rome Barefoot and Kitsey Denning Barefoot. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Madison Darden.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Newton Grove. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Debra D. Lockey (Kent) of Raleigh, Rose D. Hahn (Glenn) of Horican, Wis., and Irene D. King (Wallace) of Hodgenville, Ky.; son, Arthur L. Darden (Cassie) of Hampton, Ga.; sisters, Repsie Warren of Dunn, Ruth Bailey of Wake Forest and Mary Wheatley of Cockrenville, Pa.; brothers, Waylon Quigley of Katy, Texas, Larry Quigley and Sherrill Quigley, both of Boothwyn, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, and from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 211 Irwin Drive, Newton Grove, NC 28366.
