Godfrey, March 16. - (Special.) William Henry Berger,72, who was born in Alton and who farmed in the Bethalto, Edwardsville, and Godfrey township areas for may years, died at his home hereat 3:10 p.m., yesterday.
His wife, whose maiden name was Kate Maneke, died in 1938. He is survived by a son, Harry ,who made his home with his father: two brother, John and George, both of Alton, and one sister, Mrs. Louise Ringering, of East Alton. A second son, Henry, was killed in an accident while cutting timer in 1941.
Funeral services will be held at the Gent funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev O.W. Heggemeler officiating. Burial will be in Godfrey Cemetery.
Friends may view the body at the funeral home after 7:3o tonight.
