Janet Faye Merryweather, 82 years, of North Bend, NE, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at her home. She was born in Carroll, Iowa on August 10, 1935 to Lafayette and Alice (Segebart) Schoenjahn.
She attended schools in Carroll, IA and was a 1953 graduate of Carroll High School and attended Business School in Omaha, NE. She married Ron Merryweather on September 20, 1958 in Carroll, IA. They moved to Fremont in 1958 and to North Bend, NE in 1966. Janet was employed at North Bend Insurance Agency for 43 years. Janet was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of North Bend, P.E.O., and the community choirs.
She is survived by her husband, Ron of North Bend, NE; son, Michael (Linda) Merryweather of North Bend; daughters, Lee Ann (Dan) Kingry of Fremont and Melinn (Mark) Brandt of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Jo Ann Kaney of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 16, 2017 at United Presbyterian Church in North Bend. The Rev. Michael Hill will officiate. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend at a later date.
Memorials may be designated to United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, the North Bend Public Library, or Fremont Health Hospice.
