In her youth, Diane was an avid horsewoman, competing in local riding events, and a cheerleader while in high school. She enjoyed sailing, gardening, and most of all, dancing and singing to her rock and roll music, a passion which she maintained her entire life. Diane was also an accomplished watercolor painter; her paintings were exhibited in some local art shows.
Diane retired after 25 years in the South Brunswick school system, working as a paraprofessional. She represented her school in the union for paraprofessionals for many years. Her working career started as a baby model, and she was one of the Gerber babies at one point. She also worked as a secretary while her husband was in graduate school.
Diane was a beloved wife and mother. In addition to her husband, she leaves behind four children, Christopher Marr of Groton, Conn., Laurie Marr Kossowsky of Beit Shemesh, Israel, Michael Marr of Monroe, Wash., and Amy Marr Dallaire of Portland. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and two sisters, Lynn O'Brien of Searsport, and Susan Tambasco, of Hicksville, NY., plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services for Diane will be held at a later date in Searsport where she will be interred in the family plot, near her parents and grandparents.
