James A. Grissinger of Allenport (Mount Union R.D.) died suddenly at his home on Friday afternoon, June 22, 1951 at 4:15 o:clock He had not been in good health for some time, but his death came as a shock to his family and friends.

Mr. Grissinger was a widely known retired carpenter.

Born October 16, 1884 at Three Springs R.D., he was a son of Samuel R. Grissinger and Anna (Gaster) Grissinger, he was united in marriage to Miss. Emma Knepper of Three Springs on Dec. 27, 1917. The couple spent their entire married life in the Mount Union area. He was employed by the Mount Union Planing Mill Company until his retirement in 1939.

Mr. Grissinger was a member of the Mount Union Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Paul Grissinger, at home; also by one sister and one brother, Mrs. Phyllis Winegardner of Clear Ridge and Ernest Grissinger of Three Springs R.D.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o:clock, from Clarks Funeral Home in Mount Union, conducted by the Rev. E.G. Brame, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Mount Union. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Sunday.
