Bradley was the son of Joseph Dowl and Emma C. (Bell) Ponder. He married Lillie May Morgan on 7 May 1913 in Ouachita County; they were the parents of three sons: Earl, George and James D. Ponder. Lilly died soon after giving birth to son James and about 1921 Bradley married Mattie Teague; they were the parents of eight children: Eugene, Carl, Ernest, Leonard, Katie, Emma, Annie and Charles. After the death of Mattie in 1960, he married Eunice (Whitley) Thomason on 21 Jun 1961 in Camden; they had no children.

Bradley was a farmer and cattleman. On 26 Dec 1969, Bradley and Eunice were involved in a car wreck on Arkansas Highway 24 in Nevada County, near Bluff City. Eunice was killed and Bradley died three days later of his injuries.

Bradley Ponder Dies From Injuries

Bradley Ponder, age 75 of Arkadelphia, formerly of Lester, died in a local hospital Sunday at 6:35 a.m. of injuries suffered in a car wreck near Bluff City Friday afternoon.

Ponder's wife, Eunice, 69, was killed in the accident which occurred on Arkansas Highway 24 in Nevada County. The driver of the second vehicle, Lewis Stead, 40, of Prescott, was hospitalized at Camden.

Mr. Ponder was born at Lester and made his home there until a few years ago when he moved to Arkadelpnia. He was a farmer and cattleman.

He is survived by seven sons, George, Earl, Eugene, Carl, Ernest and Charles Ponder of Lester and Leonard Ponder of Crossett; three daughters, Mrs. Katie Lee Ackley of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Annie Sarrett and Mrs. Emma Jean Wood of Camden; two brothers, Wilton Ponder and Clifton Ponder of Lester; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Sturgis of Camden, Mrs. Rosie McKay of Thornburg, Mrs. Mabel Hussey of Benton and Mrs. Carrie Crain of Laytonville, Calif.; 26 grand children and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.mm at the Westside Methodist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ponder were held at 3 p.m. Monday in Arkadeiphia with Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home in charge.

CAMDEN, Ark. — Funeral services were held Tuesday for Bradley Ponder, 75. Burial was in the Camden Memorial Park cemetery.

He died in a local hospital following an auto accident near Bluff City.

Mr. Ponder is survived by seven sons, George, Earl, Eugene, Carl, Ernest and Charles Ponder, all of Lester, and Leonard Ponder of Crossett; three daughters, Mrs. Katie Lee Ackley of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Annie Sarrett and Mrs. Emma Jean Wood, all of Camden; two brothers, Wilton Ponder and Clifton Ponder, both of Lester; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Sturgis of Camden, Mrs. Rosie McKay of Thornburg, Mrs. Mabel Hussey of Benton and Mrs. Carrie Crain of Laytonville, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
