Lillian E. Spencer, 83, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Richmond, to Lawrence and Cora Shiflett Ray. She married Thomas W. Spencer on Aug. 25, 1961, in Fort Wayne; he preceded her in death April 5, 2017.
She worked for 18 years at Borden's Ice Cream and for 10 years in housekeeping at Parkview Hospital. She loved her dogs, enjoyed cooking for her family and enjoyed cleaning her house.
She is survived by two daughters, Denise (Steve) Farran and Sue (Jim) Ryder, both of Bluffton; a sister, Joan Rynearson of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Lawrence (Judy) Ray of Orlando, Fla., and John (Beth) Ray of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Garrett and Ruth Ray; and a granddaughter, Melissa Ryder.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with pastor Tim Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10,at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
