Louise was born in Ogden, Utah on Sept. 23,1929 to William (Bill) and Blenda Larsen Hobbs. She was the oldest of five children. Louise graduated from Ogden High School in 1947. She then attended Weber State College in Ogden. Louise worked for Anderson's Jewelers and later at First Security Bank of Ogden.
In May of 1952, as the cherry blossoms were starting to bloom, Louise arrived in Washington D.C. She worked as a secretary for Senator Carl Hayden of Arizona. Here she met Robert H. Crabtree, a young medical student. They were married August 28, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Bob and Louise lived in Salt Lake City, New Orleans and Los Angeles, but they chose Paradise to raise their family, living there for 44 years. Their later years were spent in Provo, UT.
Louise enjoyed life. She especially loved and enjoyed her family. She was an avid photographer and a meticulous record keeper. She found joy keeping in touch by sending special notes and packages. She was like a second mom to many of her childrens' friends. Throughout her life she served in numerous ways in church and the community.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Crabtree (2010), her daughter, Diane (Brad) Wolfe (2013); her brothers, Tom (Carolyn) Hobbs (2004) and David (Diane) Hobbs (2010).
She is survived by five sons: Joe (Karen) Crabtree of Auburn, CA, Steve (Kamele) Crabtree of Paradise, CA, Brent (Denise) Crabtree of Provo, UT, Chris (Rhonda) Crabtree of Lindon, UT, Mike (Corie) Crabtree of Denver, CO. In addition, she is survived by 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 25, 2017, with interment at the Orem City Cemetery.
