The Sheriffs of the following year were both Offley's kinsmen, William Chester, whose daughter was married to his half-brother Richard Offley, Merchant Taylor,[36][37] and David Woodroffe, whose son Nicholas Woodroffe was husband of Margaret Kirton's daughter Grizell (Stephen Kirton having died in 1553[38]).
