Naomi Mae Currier
Maiden name Mallory
Born December 17, 1934
Naomi Mae Currier was born in 1934 to Clara and Ed Mallory in Boise, Idaho. She spent her entire youth in the same house with her younger brother Jim Mallory and her stepsisters Bonnie Bate and Maxine Miller. She loved school and her schoolmates and graduated from Boise High School. She also was a regular at church and was very involved in church activities. Church summer camp was one of her fondest memories.
One thing she loved about the church was singing and she participated whenever there was an opportunity. This led to her learning the piano, which she could accompany herself with at home throughout the hours of the day. This also led to her becoming the pianist for her church.
At age 19, Naomi met Lando Currier and shortly later they were married. Looking to find a good solid career, the two moved to Seattle when Lando went to work for Boeing. The immediately started working on a family with Terry, Darrell, Janell and Darrin
Naomi brought the family up in the church and was active with church activities. One of her favorites things in her recent years was being a greeter at Hillcrest Nazarene Church. That was always the highlight of her week.
She was very active in the kids’ lives and their youth activities such a sports, scouting and brownies. She even was an assistant coach for Janell’s softball team, was a den mother for cub scouts and was active in the PTA.
When Lando passed in 1992, Naomi, with the support of her family faced the future. She loved gospel music and attended many festivals and concerts with her friends from the church. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren Chelsea and Landon Currier, Ryan and Rachael Wardlaw, Angie Taylor, Austin and Nolan Currier, Chad and Brad Gibbs as well as great-grand children Gabe Taylor and Ryder Hepner. Naomi loved her daughter-in-laws Kris Currier and Karen Currier and son-in law Dan Wardlaw, as if they were her own children.
She had a deep affection her sister-in-laws and brother in laws and all their special times over the years: Cindy Gamble, Jeanette Bauman, Vana Joy Bauman, Darla Mallory and Zane Peterson. Her life was made better with all the great friends she had in her life.
Naomi has left the world but will never leave the hearts of her family, friends and those who’s lives she passed.
