Romeo W. Alemoni, 83, of Bristol, husband of Lorraine (Howe) Alemoni died on Sunday (January 29, 2006) at Bristol Hospital. Mr. Alemoni was born on December 19, 1922 in Bristol and was a son of the late Leon and Ida (Bertoneini) Alemoni who migrated from Italy to the United States, settling in Bristol, in the early 1900's. A lifelong Bristol resident, he worked for many years in the family restaurant business called Leon's Coffee Pot on Laurel Street in Bristol. He later worked for Superior Electric for 25 years before retiring in 1984. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in the northwestern part of Connecticut for many years. He also enjoyed playing golf and, as a young man, he played in the Bristol baseball leagues. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Mr. Alemoni is survived by two sons, Rick Alemoni of Bristol and William Alemoni of New Hartford; a daughter, Carolyn Nelson of Terryville; a brother, Bruno Alemoni of Terryville; five grandchildren, Tara Nicholas, Kristen Giantonio, Teron Alemoni, Kimberly Snyder, and Kari Nelson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Irene Teti, Marion Wasley, Jean Alemoni, and Inez Alemoni. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (January 31, 2006) at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. The burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
