Georgia Anna Pannell of Grasonville died Friday, April 28, 2000 at her home. She was 86. Born on Aug 1, 1914 in Grasonville, she was the daughter of the late Griffin and Edith Washington. After attending Grasonville public schools, she moved to Philadelphia at an early age and was employed by the SKF Industries Inc. After 30 years of service, she retired from SFK on Nov 1, 1974. She also had been employed with the Kent Island Yacht Club and Thorpe Nelson of Queenstown. She was a supporter of the United Way Children Hospital in Philadelphia. Mrs. Pannell was a member of Bryan’s United Methodist Church, where she served as communion steward and was active in the United Methodist Women. She married William Pannell of New Jersey. Mrs. Pannell is survived by a sister, Alethia Stiles, a brother, Paul Washington and several nieces and nephews.
