Eloise “Louise” Dunn passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 78. She was born in Halifax County, November14, 1938 to the late Richard Dunn and the late Eloise Thomas Dunn.
Louise is survived by sister, Myra D. Shelton and husband, Jimmie of Stoneville, NC, sisters in law, Virginia Dunn and Glenda Dunn; brother in law, Willie Lee Overton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Catherine D. Gosney, Maggie D. Overton, and Margaret Dunn; brothers, Richard Dunn, Jr., Ollie Dunn, Rommie Dunn, and Lloyd Dunn.
Louise was a graduate of Bluestone High School and a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Burlington Industries and J.P. Stevens Corp. and later the owner and operator of The Country Kitchen in South Boston, VA, where she was well known for her cooking. Even after retirement she continued to fix those delicious chicken n’ dumplings, chocolate pies and Brunswick stews.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 6, 2017 at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Reverend Jimmy McMillan officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Glenda Dunn, 5240 Bill Tuck Highway, South Boston, VA.
