ISAAC ACKERMAN
(1867-1955)
Isaac (Ike) Ackerman, 87, a lifelong resident of Scioto County, died at 7:15 p.m. at the home of his son, J.W. Ackerman, 2300 Charles St., with whom he had lived for 22 years.
Mr. Ackerman was in failing health for four years and in critical condition the last month. He had worked as a teamster for several prominent farmers in the valley.
He was born Oct. 2, 1867, a son of John and Phoebe Lute Ackerman, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded by four sons, three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are his wife, Hattie Allen Ackerman; a son, John of Portsmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Dolly Price, 220 Second St., and Mrs. Annie Beachman of Columbus; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sixth Street Pentecostal Church of Christ, Rev. Norman Davis officiaiting. Burial, in charge of Windel-Howland Funeral Home, will follow in Rosemount Road Cemetery.
