Pet was born in Altonah on June 5, 1925 to John and Florence Mecham Forakis.
He married Veda Hoopes and they later solemnized their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple on January 7, 1947.
Petro is survived by his four children, Billie (Arden) Bendixen, Florence (Dennis) Christensen, Elaine (David) Allen, and John (Sally) Forakis; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, “Gram.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville. A viewing will be held prior to the services at 9:30 a.m.
Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
