Darlene Harjo was born March 22, 1937 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She passed away September 29, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 80 years.

Darlene was baptized at a young age at Indian Southern Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. Darlene worked for Oklahoma City Housing Authority in Elder Housing as the manager until her retirement. She enjoyed old westerns, music, church and her church family. She was close to her extended family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas B. Harjo and Mary (Gooden) Harjo; her grandparents, Katie (McCosar) Gooden and George Gooden; two aunts, Annie Gooden and Janet Jones; and three uncles, Willie Gooden, Daniel Gooden, and Abraham Gooden and sister Julia Ann Harjo.

She is survived by a host of cousins with whom she was very close and other family and friends.

Funeral services are to be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the Many Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Anderson will officiate. She will be laid to rest at McCosar Family Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
