Barbara Abercrombie passed away on September 27, 2017, in the presence of her family at the age of 83 years old at her home in Fairfield, California.
Barbara was the oldest of two children, born March 4th, 1934 to William Baxter Knight III and Irene Smith Knight in Vallejo, where she met her first husband George W. Patchin. They raised their two children in Vallejo and then Green Valley until George's death in 1967.
In 1967, Barbara married Max Abercrombie and together they had a daughter. They raised their blended family of six children, and were happily married until Max's passing in 2006.
In addition to her busy life raising her family, Barbara enjoyed doing crafts and baking but her most fulfilling hobby was reading and writing poetry. Barbara's door was always open to friends and family.
Barbara is survived by her children: Chandra Irene Callaway, Christopher Joseph Patchin, Mary Elizabeth Abercrombie, Brent Abercrombie, Gay Abercrombie Kendrick, Lee Abercrombie; her sister Patricia Jackson; and her lifetime friend Donna Gale's children, Roberta and Frank Gale.
She will be forever missed by family and friends. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 West Texas Street, Fairfield, CA on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reuniting with her husband, Max, at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
