Nancy Grace Mosley. Daughter of Samuel Mosley Sr and Polly Sloan. Extra marital relationship with John Hoskins (who was legally married to Lucinda Jones). Married Jordan Gross October 6, 1850 in Harlan County. She was born 1831 and died about 1911. The death certificate posted here appears to apply to another Nancy, daughter of Ezekial Hoskins and Sallie Whitehead. The age and surname given is consistent with that Nancy. Nancy Grace is last found in public records at the 1910 census living with son Carlo age 80, 5 children 4 living. She likely died shortly thereafter, perhaps in the 1911 period when statewide vital statistics were just beginning and were slow to catch on.
At the 1850 census she is found in the household of her parents Samuel Mosley Sr and Polly Sloan along with newborn son Henderson (listed as Mosley, but later used his father's name of Hoskins). This is the definite record of her parentage.
