Suggested edit: WALTER S. ANIELAK, 95, of Benton, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Ladislaus Stanislaus Anielak March 1, 1916, in St. Louis, son of Frank and Anna Mlynarczyk Anielak. Anielak grew up in Washington County, IL, and attended St. Michael Catholic Church and School in Radom, IL. He and Rose Drozkowska were married Jan. 13, 1938, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in St. Louis. She preceded him in death after a marriage of 72 yrs. He was a 63-year member of Local 36 Sheet Metal Workers International Association. Survivors include a son, Mel Anielak of Benton, MO; a daughter, Arlene Husemann of Creve Coeur, MO.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene K. Anielak; a grandson, a great-granddaughter, six brothers, and seven sisters. Services: Friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, MO. The funeral Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Benton is in charge of arrangements.
