COMMENDING AMBERS POOLE ON HIS 50TH ANNIVERSARY AS A BARBER.

WHEREAS, Ambers Poole recently celebrated his 50th Anniversary as a barber, with 48 of those years at the same location on Third Avenue in Aliceville, Alabama; and

WHEREAS, at age 75, Mr. Poole, over his long tenure, has worked tirelessly to promote a standard of excellence while professionally cutting hair, trimming beards, or giving shaves to his regular customers, as well as to clients in area nursing homes; and

WHEREAS, beginning his barbering busines as Poole Brothers with his late brother, it is interesting to note that the charge for a haircut was sixty-five cents and forty cents for a shave; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Poole earned the respect and admiration of the people of the Aliceville Community as a former City Councilman and is an alert and active citizen of the local Veterans of Foreign War; and

WHEREAS, it is also with pride that we recognize his patriotism to his country as a decorated veteran of the United States Army during World War II, who received the prestigious Certificate of Merit Award for carrying a wounded comrade 800 yards while under heavy fire in Germany during April 1945; and

WHEREAS, Ambers Poole is a beloved member of the community who reaches out to those in need and he has indeed worked diligently to serve in the best interests of his fellow citizens; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That highest commendation is hereby extended to Ambers Poole on his 50th Anniversary as a barber and, by copy of this resolution, convey to him best wishes for continued success.
