"Retired Dover blicklayer dies--Robert E Neff, Jr, 70, of 1321 Crater Ave, Dover, died today in Union Hospital following a one-year illness. He retired in 1976 as a bricklayer, having worked for Gundy Construction and J A Raeder Construction.
Born at Sugarcreek, he was a son of the late Robert E and Ellen Farver Neff. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church at Dover, Canton Bricklayers Union, Dover American Legion and was an Army engineer veteran of World War II, having served in Europe and the Philippines. He was a graduate of Sugarcreek High and Canton Actual Business College.
Surviving are his wife, the former Bernice Becker; two sisters, Mrs Ross (Alma) Robart of North Lawrence and Mrs Roy (Ora) Lounsbourgh of Oberlin, and several nieces and nephews. A sister and three brothers also are deceased.
Services will be held at 11 am Thursday in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover where friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Rev William Haggis will officiate."
