James K. “Ken” Chancelor was born on July 2, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas to Douglas Roy and Gladys Fay Wooster Chancelor. He graduated from Gilmer High School and attended Baylor University before graduating from the University of Houston. Ken played center in the NFL for three years, spending two years with the Oilers and one with the Rams. On May 23, 1987, he married Suzie Collins in Houston, Texas. Ken was President and C.E.O. of TRS Financial Services Inc. which he founded in 1974. Ken joined the Citizens National Bank of Texas Board of Directors in December, 1997.

Ken passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, in Houston, at the age of 77 years.

He is survived by his wife, Suzie Chancelor; children, Michael Douglas Chancelor and his wife Courtney, and Aaron Wayne Wilkerson; grandchildren, Carter Chancelor and Cohen Chancelor; siblings, Jefferie Clark and her husband Norman, and Karen Beavers; nieces and nephews, Emily Suzanne McCann, Brad Sanders, and Bryan Sanders; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Douglas and Gladys Chancelor; and a brother, Jerry Hall.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Schmidt Funeral Home – Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Chaplain Daniel Schramm officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Ore City Cemetery in Ore City, Texas.
