Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at the Schroeder Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Jewett of Westfield Congregational Church officiating. Visitation was Monday at the home of Ann and Del Maynard from 7 until 9 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Services were under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Gertrude V. Maynard was born May 8, 1913 in rural Westfield, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Wilconsin)[Spelling should be (Wilkison)] Harrington. She graduated from Liberty High School in Plymouth County in 1930. She married Sidney Maynard June 8, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was a house wife. Mrs. Maynard was a past member of the Westfield Congregational Church. In her free time she loved to cook.
Mrs. Maynard is survived by one brother, Farrel and his wife, Tillie; two sisters, Joy Weigel, of Omaha, and Ann and her husband, Del, of Akron; one step-son Lawrence and his wife, Yvonne, of Akron; one niece and four nephews.
Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Wilbur and Walter Jay.
The soloist was Craig Boetger who sang "On the Wings of a Dove" and "On Eagle's Wings", who was accompanied by Carol Harris.
Lunch followed the service at the home of Ann and Del Maynard.
