Charlotte passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2017, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 80. She was of the Christian Faith, a proud member of the Faith Baptist Church and longstanding resident of Green Cove Springs, FL. Charlotte was born at home on April 21, 1937, in Hancock County, IL to parents Lawrence Henry and Lorna Eudora (Yoe) (Miller) Franzen.
Charlotte married her first husband Floyd Roberts in 1954, he preceded her in death in 1965. They had one daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Bennett and one son, Timothy (Debra Meredith) Roberts. She married her second husband Marshall Gilmore on March 17, 1967, he preceded her in death in 2004, and they had one son, Daniel M. (Patty) Gilmore.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (Miller) (Taylor) Evans in April 5, 1991; her stepfather, Orland Franzen; Father, Lawrence Miller; and Mother, Lorna (Miller) Franzen.
She is survived by her siblings; Gladys (Joe) Scaccia of Port Orange, FL, Leon (Mary) Miller of St. Louis, MO, Jerry (Sue) Miller of Carthage, IL; her children; Cheryl (Mike) Bennett, Timothy W. (Debra) Roberts, and Daniel (Patty) Gilmore all of Green Cove Springs, FL; four grandchildren; Kristie Bennett of Green Cove Springs, FL, Matthew (Heidi) Bennett of Palatka, FL, Megan (Jeremy) Rhodes of Fleming Island, FL, Garrett (Ashley) Gilmore of Clarksville, IA; and four great grandchildren; Kaleb Bennett, Makye Bennett, Cora Jean Gilmore and Kristopher Bennett and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 25, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00am in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Louie Doan officiating. Burial will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery where Charlotte will be buried next to her husband, Marshall.
