Dorthy M. Daniel, 89, of Jacksonville, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at Scott County Nursing Center in Winchester.

She was born March 5, 1928, in Arcadia, the daughter of James and Flossie Caywood Daniel.

She is survived by her son, Duane L. Daniel of Jacksonville; and one sister, Mary (deceased husband, James) Foster of Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Paul Daniel, James (surviving wife, Shirley of Mississippi) Daniel, and Robert (deceased wife, Mildred) Daniel.

Ms. Daniel owned and operated Jo-Lo Beauty Shop in Jacksonville for forty years and, as a part time beautician for Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home. She attended Arcadia Church. She loved her pets and enjoyed being with her family.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Scott County Nursing Center, 650 N. Main St., Winchester, IL 62694. Burial will held at a later date at Arcadia Cemetery. Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is handling the arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or to Scott County Nursing Center.
