Uela Emily Bales was born on August 10, 1925 in Horton, Kansas. She was the fourth child born to Frank and Mary Bales. Although Uela was born in Kansas, she spent the majority of her life in Salem, Oregon. She attended Salem High School.
In 1942, she married Colin Scott and had two sons, Gale and Larry. She was devoted to her family and her greatest joy was taking care of her children. She worked for the Oregon Department of Agriculture for thirty-two years before retiring. She loved attending church, crocheting, sewing and tending the home. On February 28, 2017, Colin and Uela celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Colin, son Gale, sister Betty Hayhurst and brother Charles Bales.
The celebration of her life will be held at Christian World Fellowship, 4932 Liberty Road S., Salem, Oregon on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017. Viewing will be held from 1:30pm to 2:00pm and the celebration will be held at 2:00pm. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
