Zelphia Sayers was born on March 17, 1938 to Rupert C. and Mildred Taylor Carr in Springhill, LA and passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Shreveport, LA.
She graduated from Springhill High School with the class of 1956, and was a homemaker. She was known as a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister and loved painting, and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Billy Dale Sayers of Sarepta, LA; two daughters, Kathy Howard and husband, Brent of Mena, AR, Kalen Smith of Sarepta, LA; four sons, Robert Sayers of Sarepta, LA, Randy Sayers and fiancee', Dana of Springhill, LA, Coty Sayers and fiancee', Kia of New Orleans, LA, Cory Sayers and wife, Haley of Baton Rouge, LA; grandkids, Amber Johnson and wife, Kricket, Jaime Sayers, Cole Warren and wife, Emily, Krystal Nelson and husband, Crockett, Thomas Sayers, Brandon Sayers and wife, Chelsea, Felicia Byram, Keri Woolf and husband, Dillan; and twenty three great-grandchildren; one sister: Linda Flemming, and husband, Grayson of Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Sayers was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Brandon Carr, and granddaughters, Kellye Sayers, Adrian Bulhard and Abby Whiseant.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Phillip Casper and Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Grove Cemetery, Junction City, AR.
