A "Celebration of Life" service will be held for Jeanette [G.] Bridges, [on] Thursday, September 28th, 10:00 a.m., at [the] First Baptist Church in Fletcher[, Oklahoma]. Please keep Jeff Bridges and the Bridges family in your thoughts and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Bridges expressed the wish that memorial gifts may be made to the Great Plains Technology Center Foundation, 4500 SW Lee Blvd., [Lawton, Oklahoma] 73505. Mrs. Bridges worked at [the] Great Plains Technology Center for many years beginning in 1987.

Mrs. Bridges passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 83.

Jeanette G. (Abrams) Bridges was born on October 2, 1933 in Sterling, Oklahoma to Gladys (Evans) Abrams. She graduated from Fletcher High School in 1951. Jeanette married Charles Bridges on July 7, 1950. The two were married for 42 years before his death and were blessed with 4 children: 3 sons and 1 daughter. The family lived in California, New Mexico, and Texas before finally moving back to Fletcher, Oklahoma. She worked for Fletcher Public Schools as a librarian and the Vo-Tech school bus driver. Jeanette worked for Great Plains Vo-Tech for over 15 years until retiring in 2000. She loved Great Plains and called it her home away from home; making many friendships there. She loved to laugh, cook, and sew for many. She was an active member at Fletcher First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Jeanette loved her family and her Savior Jesus. Jeanette loved sports, especially baseball. She loved attending all of her kids' and grandkids' activities and was always their biggest fan. The door to her home was always open to anyone. Jeanette was a wonderful woman and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeanette is survived by 1 daughter, Gail Lane and her husband Chris, of Warrenton, Virginia; 3 sons: Keith Bridges and his wife Pam and Matt Bridges and his wife Laura, all of Las Cruces, NM and Jeff Bridges and his wife Kelley, of Marlow; 2 sisters: Judy Rieck, of Duncan and Carla Sue Jones, of Fletcher; 8 grandchildren: Erin, Ryan, and Steven Lane, and Stacey, Trae, Jacob, Patrick, and Chase Bridges; 8 great grandchildren: Paige, Garrison, and Braeden Lane, Shelby and Brendan Junkins, Morgan Emmons, and Kynlee and Kamden Bridges; and 1 great great grandchild, Malakai Lane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles[D.] Bridges; her mother, Gladys Greene; and 2 brothers: Pat and Gerald Abrams.
