She was born in New Enterprise, daughter of the late John and Hazel (Brumbaugh) Wyles. On Nov. 24, 1951, she married John C. Brubaker in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death in January of 2003, after sharing 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are four children: Lois (Bill) Snook of Orlando, Fla., Jerome (Candy) Brubaker of Orlando, Fla., Joseph (Brenda) Brubaker of Brampton, Ontario, and Jill (Doug) Reigh of Duncansville; nine grandchildren: John, Joanne, Robert, Jennifer, Jerilyn, Dayna, Kevin, Nicole and Abigail; and two great-grandchildren: Kenneth Jr. and Penelope.
Betty was a licensed practical nurse at Altoona Hospital for 20 years before retiring with Johnny to Oviedo, Fla. There she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; doing volunteer work with Stephen Ministry through University Carillon United Methodist Church, Oviedo, Fla.; playing Mah-jongg with friends; and making frequent trips to the beach.
Friends will be received at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 22, 2017, at University Carillon United Methodist Church, Oviedo, Fla.

BRUBAKER, JOHN C., 71, of Palm Valley, Oviedo, FL, passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, January 14, 2003. John was born August 28, 1931 in Duncansville, PA. Son of Alfred and Effie Brubaker, he graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1949. John served a machinist's apprenticeship at the Pennsylvania Railroad shops in Altoona, PA. He obtained his Tool and Die Maker rating at SKF Industries in Altoona, PA, where be was employed for 34 years until his retirement in 1989. Member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Altoona, PA, John attended University Carillon United Methodist Church after relocating to Oviedo, FL. John was a 32nd Degree Mason out of Jaffra Shrine Temple in Altoona, PA. United in marriage with the former Betty Wyles from Martinsburg, PA on November 24, 1951. Survived by wife, Betty of Oviedo; children, Lois Snook and husband, Bill of Orlando, FL; Jerry Brubaker and wife, Candy of Orlando, FL; Joe Brubaker and wife, Brenda of Toronto, Canada; and Jill Reigh and husband, Doug of Duncansville, PA; grandchildren, John and Joanne Snook, Robert and Jennifer Shavers and Jerilyn Brubaker, Dayna and Kevin Brubaker, and Nicole and Abigail Reigh; also survived by sisters and brothers, Ellen Mitchell of Duncansville, PA, Ronald of Bellefonte, PA, Galen of Republic, OH, and Miriam Mellon of Avondale, AZ.
