James (1) Agnew was twice married. His first wife, about whom little if anything is known, was the mother of his first two children, namely John (2) Agnew and Janet (2) Agnew. Margaret Agnew, the first wife of the pioneer, probably died at Donegal and is buried there in the old Presbyterian churchyard in a grave that is now unmarked.
