HUCKSTER KILLED WHEN TWO HORSES RUN AWAY
Companion Seriously Hurt in Accident Just Outside of Paducah
Paducah, KY, Aug 17 - (Special) - When two Texas ponies pulling a wagon in which they were riding from a suburb to the city market took fright and ran away, Linnie McManus, 55, a huskster, was killed and S. E. Farmer, who was accompanying him, was seriously hurt. Both men jumped from the wagon when the ponies started on their wild run. McManus fell on his head, the impact breaking his neck. Death was instantaneous. Farmer sustained a fracture of his right arm. McManus moved to Paducah from Benton, Ky., three weeks ago and is survived by his wife and six children.
[My comment - his wife was Lucy Ann (Gore) and their children were Mary Frances d.1910; Rebecca; Jane; James; Edward; Esther and Thomas.]

NOTE: Definition of 'huckster' a retailer of small articles, fruits and vegetables; paddler; one who sells or advertises something in an aggressive, dishonest, or annoying way.
